For some years a trip to a Capetown Township was on my bucketlist. But we didn’t want to make it a tourist trip by watching the poverty of those who haven’t been lucky to live in the better parts of the Mother City. But things changed as we went to help Chris and Benita from the Sunrise Kids, who provide children from the Capricorn township in Muizenberg (Capetown) a breakfast so they can can get a better focus at school. And because of that they even may be graduated and look for a better future. And all that because of the love of Chris and Bonny for their fellowmen given by God.
We support the Capricorn Foundation since a few years and last february we got the oportunity to visit Capricorn once again after five years and helped Chris and the volunteers giving out the beakfast to the children. After the first “shift” had their oatmeal, i went out with the boys and played some soccerl on the street with them, because there are no playgrounds in the township. Because the ball was just something that looked like a ball we went to a sportstore later that day and bought some decent balls and brought that to Chris so he could let the boys play soccer. After the kids went to school and we celaned up the location hris took us for a walk through the area. Because most locals know Chris it was very natura land we didn’t have the feeling of who’s watching who. We felt very comfortable with him. We could tka a look in some houses to see how people live there. Later Chris showed us the spot that the foundation would like to buy from the municipality of Capetown to build a proper accomodation to help the children and get them beside the breakfast a afternoon program with helping them with their homework, play games to trigger them and to teach them peronal hygiene.
When we got home in our luxury bed and breakfast in Houtbay we could only be very subdued and thanked God for what we have and we we can do to make lives of the kids at the other side of Table Mountain maybe a little bit better. But most of all Hats Off for Chris and Benita and the volunteers of the Capricorn Foundation.
CAPRICORN TOWNSHIP TRIP
WHAT AN EXPERIENCE

A tour in Capricorn is very impressing. We have seen a few houses inside and talked with some people there. Chris and Bonnie are fantastic lovely people and they are doing such a good job there. They give you a good view in a township and give you a lot of information about living in a township. When we were leaving Capricorn, we were so impressed.

Unbelievable how many children are counting on him and de organization, that take care for a good meal before they go to school, teaching children and organize many, many activities to let children learn and play. Thank you Chris (and Bonnie) for sharing your story's form the heart with us! Keep up the very good work!
I WILL NEVER FORGET
In 2012 Chris Biegnaar showed me around beautiful Capetown including township Capricorn. He let me participate in his daily program to feed hundreds of poor kids before they went to school. After this we walked around the neighborhood where I could talk to people and see their daily routine and their houses. It was an expierence I will never forget. I was overwhelmed by Chris' endless love for kids, for the world and for 'his' Capetown; overwhelmed by his enthusiasm, his positivity, his big soul and his humble character. He shows you the real life of living in Capetown, but without being superciliously. I can recommend anyone to book a tour with Chris (and his wife Bonnie).
